The Supervisor was the only year-round employee and from 1950 to 1954 he answered all correspondence regarding accommodations and reservations himself. Though Gov. Baxter had purchased the Russell Pond Camps early in the forties, and had razed most of William F. Tracey's buildings, the site was not considered an official campground until 1950.
