Hello Fellow Snow Lovers,
It started snowing yesterday at 8am, just finished today. We got about 18
inches of new snow. Allen is out grooming now 85 north to Sebois, and we are
going 85 south to Bowlin. We are going to open up the Scraggley Loop tomorrow.
Shin Pond is out also grooming. Be careful because the wind has been blowing and
there maybe down braches in the trail. Be patient with all the groomers as they
are busy trying to pack the trails. Enjoy the snow!!
Look forward to seeing you here at Matagamon!

We groomed ITS 85 south to Bowlin Camps last night ( and signed it today).
We are also grooming ITS 85 North to Sebois River. 71 D is still
being plowed but should be done by the weekend and will be groomed and signed by
then. They are calling for snow showers all week!!! Remember the Look Out is
still open, just cross at the suspension bridge at Bowlin Camps take a left
after you get across the bridge, take a right as we use to go and then left on
to Look out. Bowlin is working hard to keep it open. We look forward to seeing
you here at Matagamon!!!!

We received 5 inches of new snow on Monday the 15th, which able us to bring the groomer in from Shin Pond. Some guests snowmobiled from here to Twin Pines, in Millinocket and back, and said sledding was great. Now is the time to ride the Park without the deep snow. We have had snow flurries all day with temperatures in the teens. The Weather forecasts says more snow coming Friday. Hope to see you soon.

There is 5 inches of snow on the ground and there is a
storm coming on Monday. The weather man says substantial, we'll see. We should
be able to get the groomer in here next week. There are ice fisherman on the
lake. Still staying around the coves. It is better to be safe then sorry. We
still have the ice fishing derby for the season. The largest brook trout taken
wins. Come give it a try, and stay warm in one of our ice shacks. We look
forward to seeing you!

We wanted to let all you snowmobilers know that the trails in the Matagamon and surrounding areas are all groomed and in excellent shape. Just received 4-5 inches of new powder snow, which gave us something to groom and fill the wash outs that developed with all the rain we recently had.
Hot food and hot coffee is always on.
THINK MORE SNOW and drive slow

We had a early season to start off. Sleds were coming around December 26th. we have had another January thaw!! we still have snow for riding, the problem is with water across the trails. There is a new ITS 85 which goes on the east side of the river. Just follow the signs.
We just finished our newest cabin. it has running hot water and a full bath. It sleeps up to 12 people, linens are included for your convenience, all you have to bring is your food.
There is plenty of ice on the lake for ice fishing. They have been catching a bunch of togue, salmon, and trout. The 3rd annual fishing derby has started for our in house guests, for the largest brook trout caught wins a wood carving of your fish. We also have heated ice shacks for rent.
Soups on, coffees hot,
and pies are ready. stop in for lunch.
Remember ride right and ride safe!!!
Store hours 7-7
April 11,2005 Wow, What a wonderful Season we had. Joe and I just came back last night from a great snowmobile ride. Look-out was beautiful. The snow is still about knee deep off the trail in most places; of course there is ground showing in some places. We also brought our fishing pole to fish a pond that is starting to open. Lot of fishing but no catching. Lots of fun though. We hope to get one last ride this weekend. Fishermen have already been fishing the river with some catches.
The WINNER of the ICE FISHING Derby was Jim Nolin with a nice 18 inch 1 lb 9 oz Brook Trout. Great Job!! He will receive a wood carving of his fish , carved by Alan Dudley.
We look forward to seeing all of you this Summer and meeting many new others!!!
Jan 3, 2005 The snowmobile season is upon us and we are all awaiting more snow. We have a great base but need a little more SNOW!! Everyone needs to be doing the snow dance ( you spin around 4 times while touching your nose and look up to the sky, that will do the trick!!) They are calling for snow on Thursday!!! Plenty of ice for ice fishing. New this year heated ice fishing shacks for rent. Don't forget about the derby!!! Call for information
11-03-2004 Thanks everyone for the wonderful camping season, our last camper just pulled out on Monday. He didn't want the season to end. Matagamon wouldn't be Matagamon with out all of the great people! Joe and I and our family look forward to sharing your vacation with you next year. See you in the Spring!
10-21-2004 Can't believe that the summer is over and fall is upon us. It is beautiful here now and there is snow on top of Baxter Peak. Yes, the trail is still coming up this way and we are looking forward to a great snowmobiling year. Keep checking here for updates on the trail.
This year we are continuing the ice fishing derby. The largest Brook Trout taken will get a fish carving from Matagamon Fish carvings, by Alan Dudley. So make your reservations early!!
